Annual Reception on 10 May 2022
A Warm Welcome for International Researchers.
On May 10, 2022, the Welcome Center’s Annual Reception for International Postdocs took place for the first time in three years as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the University of Siegen.
The festive evening was opened by Prof Dr Petra Vogel, Prorector for International Affairs and Lifelong Learning, who welcomed the international guests, their families, hosts, and representatives from other service units at the university, underlining the importance of internationalisation for the University and of the exchange of perspectives, both in research and everyday life.
After the words of welcome, the approximately 45 guests from around 15 countries had the opportunity to meet one another, take part in engaging conversations, and share their experiences of living and doing research in Siegen.

Annual Reception am 10. Mai 2022
Am 10. Mai 2022 fand anlässlich der Festwoche zum 50-jährigen Bestehen der Universität Siegen zum ersten Mal seit drei Jahren der Jahresempfang des Welcome Centers für internationale Postdocs statt.
Eröffnet wurde der festliche Abend von Prof. Dr. Petra Vogel, Prorektorin für Internationales und Lebenslanges Lernen. Sie begrüßte die internationalen Gäste, ihre Familien, die Gastgeber und die Vertreter*innen anderer Serviceeinheiten der Universität und betonte die Bedeutsamkeit der Internationalisierung für die Universität sowie den Austausch von Perspektiven in der Forschung und im Alltag.
Nach der Begrüßung hatten die rund 45 Gäste aus etwa 15 Ländern die Gelegenheit, sich kennenzulernen, auszutauschen und ihre Erfahrungen zum Leben und Forschen in Siegen miteinander zu teilen.
